Situated
between the ports of Bilbao and Santander on the 'Costa Verde', you
will receive a warm welcome at this first class camping resort. The
flat, grassy site has a perfect location right next to the wide
golden sands of the Playa Joyel and backed by the green hills of
Cantabria. Playa Joyel is an excellent beach for all ages, with a
regular surf for body boarders, but also with rocky outcrops to
provide sheltered bathing for the younger ones. At low tide massive
rock pools are exposed to offer snorkelling, fishing and shrimping!
There are some great views and spectacular fishing from the nearby
headland. This is a very spacious resort with a whole area dedicated
to the excellent sporting facilities and the campsite’s own animal
reserve. Playa Joyel is a quiet resort during low season but lively
in July and August with regular discos in the underground cellar.
The town of Noja is only 2 miles away and the pretty town of Isla is
accessible on foot at low tide. Take a journey into our past at the
replica pre-historic caves at Altamira; whilst the impressive
Guggenheim museum is at Bilbao.
